Penicillin Cocktail

Whiskey, Lemon, Ginger, Honey

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz Blended Scotch
  • .75 Oz lemon juice
  • .75 oz honey syrup
  • About a Tablespoon worth of ginger, peeled
  • .25/.5 oz Islay Scotch 

Instructions:

  • Combine lemon juice, honey syrup, and ginger into shaker. Muddle ginger gently.
  • Add the scotch
  • Shake
  • Double strain into an old fashioned glass
  • Top with Islay Scotch.

 

Notes:

  • You will have 2 completely different taste profiles at the beginning and the end of this cocktail. Your first few sips will taste like the Islay Scotch, which is typically going to be a strong peat or smokey flavor. The second half of the drink tastes like a dialed up Whiskey Sour, with a nice ginger flavor. 
  • Put a spoon facedown over the glass and slowly pour the Islay Scotch to float at the top of the drink.
