Japanese Cocktail
Apple brandy, Orgeat, Bitters
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Laird's 100 Proof Apple Brandy
- .5 oz. Orgeat (recipe below)
- 4 dashes Angostura bitters
Combine:
- Stir with ice, then strain into a chilled coupe
- Garnish with an orange peel
Notes:
- Orgeat is an almond flavored syrup. I made mine at home in about 20 minutes, so it's not too difficult. This recipe is from Meehan's Bartender Manual
- Toast almonds
- Put in blender with water
- Strain
- This creates almond milk.
- Heat the almond milk in a saucepan with sugar
- Add cognac, Amaretto, a a few dashes of rose water. I didn't have rose water so used a few drops of vanilla extract instead which worked well.
